1. This is a species that I attempted to finally flesh out into form. What they are exactly is pretty complicated, but here goes.
They are called the Dy’rens. Children and decedents of a being that is said to exist before anything else. Each Dy’ren is vastly different from one another since they can be apart of different sentient races and species, but they all have a common ancestry to this one being.
Dy’rens inflict mass destruction, plague, and death upon the world brought on by being constantly tortured by extreme inner hate and anguish towards all other forms of life. Often, they themselves do not fully understand why they feel these intense emotions. If they possess a strong will they can fight these urges, but eventually they will be consumed by their inner hate and transform into a final monstrous form (pictured above) that consists of the most mental and physical pain beyond what you can imagine.
The only way they can escape this fate is to have their first born absorb their life force. This way they can die peacefully. However, not only does their child becomes a full fledged Dy’ren themselves, but the child will possess more power than their parent. The child must then choose either to repeat the same cycle that was forced onto them with their own first born or suffer the other torturous fate.
