1. Weekly Art Challenge #22 (Jan.26 - Feb.1): BACKGROUNDS. For someone who focuses on characters over environments (myself, and probably the average WAC participant…), backgrounds can be a nightmare. How many times have we let our characters float in a white space, or some weird abstract background? This week it’s time to work on that.  The challenge is to draw a scene - any kind of scene! it can be nature, urban, underwater, space…anything you want! The trick is to give it depth: foreground, middle ground, background. Make the viewer feel like they’re inside your environment! More details about this challenge: No characters in your submission! This is about places and only places. Give it your best! I’ve said this a million times, but…this is Weekly Art Challenges. Keep that in mind. Other than that, you’re free to work on your scene as you please! No palette restriction or anything… If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
