Weekly Art Challenge #20 (Jan 13th - Jan 18th): Use one of the palettes in the picture to create a character or scene (or both!). (palettes taken from kuler)
Here we go again! Some of you may remember this challenge from September, and I have to say it’s the most popular challenge we’ve had yet. The idea is simple: Draw a picture using palette A or B. There was quite a bit of confusion last time with this challenge, so here’s a bulletlist:
- You may use pre-made Original Characters this time, or create new ones if you like!
- Again, no fanart. (if you really want try this challenge with fanart, you can always submit to your own blog with the “weekly art challenges” tag. Don’t forget!)
- There should only be the five colors given in your picture. That means no white backgrounds, no pure-black eyes, no whites of the eyes completely white, etc. You can, of course, blend the palette colors together to create in-between shades!
- You may use both palettes, but not together. (Meaning you can have a character colored with palette A while in a background of palette B, but not one character or one scene with both palettes used.)
- If you’re using traditional media, try to get as close as possible to the palette colors. No white/black still applies!
We will be checking and making sure! If anyone out there happens to see any non-palette colors present in pictures that we missed, or maybe we accidentally let fanart pass (because hey, we don’t know every fandom!) Just drop us an ask and we’ll take care of it.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! We’ll give you an answer as soon as possible. Once you’re done, go to our submission page and send it in! We’ll be posting everyone’s work during the week.
Hope everyone has fun with this one!! I really love palette challenges! :)
