I was an omnipresent observer, watching this party of five travel far and wide. Eventually they reached this desert. And while they were originally just passing through, when they stumbled upon that shrine they decided releasing the small god inside was an important part of completing their mission. It was about as good an idea as the dark clouds would imply. It’s not that he was evil and decided to antagonize them with his powers—on the contrary, he was the kindest person in the group. But releasing his seal brought grave misfortune upon the rest of the world.
